HeadTalk consists of a percussion school and several performance groups that provides a conducive learning experience for anyone looking to play and perform several different styles of percussion music in an exciting environment. Mike Sherpa founded HeadTalk in 1994 in Colorado Springs , it began as a parade group featuring a marching drumline with 27 full time members. A few years ago Mike Sherpa moved to the Loveland area, restarted and expanded HeadTalk into several ensembles, currently featuring over 60 members.

HeadTalk is currently both a percussion school and a performance group. Drum lessons, clinics and workshops are offered along with several performance groups including HeadTalk Performance, HeadTalk Competitive, Salsa Little-Big Band and Fife & Drum Corps. HeadTalk Performance is the main group, anybody can join no matter what age, ability or experience you may have had. The performance group plays several concerts each session including a final mega-performance, several smaller group concerts, RMPA exhibition performances, an Estes Park “In the Park” concert, and various parades around Northern Colorado. HeadTalk is designed to bring all types of people together to teach and allow people the opportunity perform percussion music from every corner of the globe.
